Home Independence Program:
Helping older people live independently at home
The Whiddon Group understands that older people are generally happier, healthier, and more connected to their communities when they continue to live in their own homes. We also understand that most people want to delay entry to a retirement village or nursing home for as long as possible.
Our Home Independence program is designed to allow clients to live competently within their own homes by providing them with professional support and guidance. The program provides a variety of services ranging from domestic care to personal care and gives clients skills to maintain their independence.
We recognise that no two clients are the same and have designed a program to cover a broad spectrum of care options that are personalised to the unique needs of each client. Whether you need a little or a lot of help, The Whiddon Group have the staffing and the expertise to provide support when needed.

Becoming a Client
This service is offered to elderly clients living at home who:
-
are frail, or have a degenerative condition / chronic illness and are experiencing difficulty managing daily living tasks
-
have recently returned home following surgery and require assistance
-
are recovering from an injury or accident
Clients may be referred to the Home Independence Program via their GP, hospital discharge planner, ACAT representative, or may simply self-refer. Eligible clients will initially meet with a Care Coordinator to assess current home living arrangements and develop mutually agreed upon goals. A comprehensive Care Plan is then tailored to the unique needs of the client. The Care Plan will detail specific areas of assistance required to help clients maximise their independence. A continuous review of progress is undertaken throughout the program.
Our Staff
The Home Independence Program employs a range of specialist staff to assist clients, such as cleaners, nurses and maintenance officers. Our staff are appropriately trained, thoroughly professional, and known for their caring and dedication. Clients are in safe hands.
Fees
Home Independence Program fees vary according to the services utilised, and can be determined during an initial consultation with a Care Coordinator. For more information regarding service fees please contact us on 1300 738 388.
